AMC teachers attend Advanced Course in Medical Education at St Johns Bangalore

PRAKRUTHI - Forum of AMC - celebrates Ambedkar Jayanthi on 14 April 2015 - quiz conducted

Prakruthi - the forum of Andhra Medical College for environmental, social and other issues, celebrated Ambedkar Jayanthi on 14th April 2015. A quiz was conducted for medical students and prizes were given away to the winners.

First Prize - joint winners (two teams) -
Sindhupriya + Sharifunnisa (2k 11)
Raghav + Deepak (2k12)

Second Prize -
Vamsya + Bindu.

Dr Madhusudhana Babu Suptdt KGH gave away the prizes.
Dr. NAVSK Ravi Kumar, Chairperson of PRAKRUTHI presided.

AMC Research Forum - Workshop on Research Methodology for Faculty & for Students - April 2015 13th & 14th

AMC Research Forum conducted a workshop on Research Methodology for faculty (on 13th April 2015) and for students (on 14th April 2015). Dr.Susan Hutfless from John Hopkins Univer. USA, who was in town for the Gastro Endoscopy workshop, conducted the workshop.
presided over by Dr Bhagyalakshmi Chairperson, AMCRF.
Faculty workshop inaugurated by Principal Dr SV Kumar
Student workshop inaugurated by KGH Superintendent Dr Madhusudhana Babu.
About 180 participants attended totally. 
On day 2 which happened to be Ambedkar Jayanthi - a lamp was lit to Ambedkar's portrait.

AMC College Day 2014

Dr Kuppachi Memorial Medal for the Best PG Research Paper in Medicine & Allied Specialities - AMC Research Forum & Medicine Dept.

Dr.Kuppachi Krishna Murthy Memorial Medal for the best PG research paper in Medicine & Allied Specialities was conducted on 21st November 2014. (delayed - usually held on his birthday 13th Nov.).
There were 8 papers - 3 from gastro, 2 from neuro, 1 from Endo, 1 from DVL (and one late entry from Medicine).
The medal was awarded to Dr.Anuradha (Neuro) for her study on reproductive endocrine dysfunction and vit. D levels in women with epilepsy.
A special cash prize (sponsored by Ethics Committee of the college) was awarded to Dr.Chaitanya for his paper on cholangiocarcinoma.
Judges were Drs. V.Rama Narasimham, A.Krishna Murthy & P.Ramana Rao.
PG volunteers - Drs. Bindu, Pranay, Harikrishna and others.
Dr.IAV Prasad Lal (former alumnus and cardiology faculty) promised to give Rs.1 lakh to the medal corpus fund.
Mr.Syam Sundar, son of late Dr.Kuppachi who was giving a pure gold medal for about 8 - 9 years and later discontinued due to the soaring gold prizes (for 4-5 years we were giving a gold coated silver medal from the Research Forum funds) promised to resume sponsoring a pure gold medal from 2015 onwards.
